[2025] A one-day trip enjoying wild vegetable picking, rice cooked in a traditional hearth, and a barbecue at a 150-year-old traditional house at the northern tip of Lake Biwa, with a shy dog♫

This is a one-day trip where you can enjoy wild vegetable picking in Makino Town, Takashima, at the northern tip of Lake Biwa, followed by a feast of wild vegetable dishes, barbecue, and rice cooked in a traditional hearth at a 150-year-old traditional house.

A shy dog and a duck indifferent to humans will welcome you.

You'll luxuriously enjoy a peaceful day amidst the original landscapes of Japan.

The wild vegetable foraging will be guided by the owner of Minemori Sanchi.

It is a handcrafted space that also features a café and a direct sales shop (^_^).

The friendly dog, San-kun, will warmly welcome you.

You can pick seasonal wild vegetables such as tara no me (Japanese angelica tree shoots), mitsuba (Japanese wild parsley), sumire (violets), nobiru (wild onions), and tanpopo (dandelions).

There are also adorable sculptures, making you feel as if you’ve wandered into another dimension ♪

Tulips, shaga (Iris japonica), pansies, and other spring flowers bloom in full glory.

The barbecue and wild vegetable dishes will be enjoyed at "Taraichi-tei." You can also explore the attic space, which was once used for silkworm farming!

Daffodils and cherry blossoms will welcome you.

Taraichi-tei is a beautifully renovated 150-year-old traditional Japanese house.

There are barbecue facilities and an irori (traditional Japanese hearth) as well.

The freshly picked wild vegetables will be enjoyed as tempura or ohitashi (lightly boiled and seasoned greens).

The originally prepared barbecue ingredients are also delicious!

A dog and a duck will welcome you!

You can also experience cooking rice in a traditional kamado (wood-fired stove).

The participation fee includes the following:

• Transportation.
• Wild vegetable picking and wild vegetable dishes.
• Kamado-cooked rice.
• Barbecue of local vegetables and wagyu beef.

You can join this event with six thank-you points instead of the participation fee.

Events are open only to club members.

You can cancel your registration before 4/6.
