One-day trip to Oeyama, where ogres used to live, for rice cake pounding, BBQ, and autumn foliage hiking

We are planning a one-day trip for rice cake pounding and barbecue at an old house on Mt. Oe.

We've been doing it recently, and it's always a great time! After eating, we will hike for one hour to check out the beautiful autumn leaves.

This old house is like stepping into an original Japanese landscape, where time seems to stand still.

The stream in front of the house adds to the serene and peaceful atmosphere, making it all the more charming and quaint.

Spending time in such a place must be a beautiful and unique experience.

Mochi pounding is also done using traditional tools!

Freshly pounded rice cakes are the best!

The scenery here is breathtaking, especially during autumn when the leaves change colors.

Interestingly, we had some unexpected visitors last year in the form of Japanese badgers. They were a delightful surprise!

Barbecue is always popular.

We grill black beef, sausage, and marinated chicken.

The hosts of the old house always provide seasonal ingredients from Fukuchiyama. It seems like you might be feeling full.

Oeyama is a mysterious land that is steeped in legends of demons. It is uncertain whether these demons truly existed or were simply blamed for inexplicable occurrences in the past. Nevertheless, the place provides ample room for the imagination to roam free. Even now, the region is renowned for its thick, sudden fog, and the mountains’ depth creates an eerie ambiance that hints at the potential for supernatural happenings.
 

The participation fee includes transportation and a barbecue fee. (Of course, hiking is free.)

You can join this event with five thank-you points instead of the participation fee.

Events are open only to club members.
